Animal Complaint Information
14-Jul-2010

Animal Complaint Information:

In the event that a loose dog chases, menaces, or attacks homeowners should file a complaint so that the offending animal(s) can be dealt with appropriately.

In accordance with MSB Title 24, and the Settler’s Bay CC&R's & Rules, Animal Owners may not allow an animal to annoy any person. All dogs are to be leashed or otherwise restrained at all times when outdoors.

You have three choices :

1. Fill out an Animal Complaint Form.
matsugov.us
You must deliver or fax the form to MSB ANIMAL CONTROL yourself. The MSB will not respond or act upon 3rd party information.

An Animal Control Officer will respond to you and proceed in accordance with the provisions of Title 24. Code can be viewed online at
www.matsugov.us , Borough code.

2. File a written complaint with the HOA:

Complaints should be for "repeat offenders" only. Any pet can escape or bark once in a while, and it is not the intention of the covenants or the HOA that a one-time incident be dealt with in a severe manner. Complaints are reserved for chronic-problem animals only.

How the Program Works

Put simply, it is a three-part approach to solving the crime problem. It relies on cooperation between the police, the media, and the general community to provide a flow of information about crime and criminals. Mat-Su CrimeStoppers select a
Crime of the Week, which is published in the local newspapers as well as radio and television.

Calls are received at a local CrimeStoppers telephone. The police CrimeStoppers liaison receives the information then evaluates it, makes initial inquiries, and then passes all information on to the investigating officer. No information regarding the identity of the caller is given to the investigating officer.

Because the caller is not required to give their name, CrimeStoppers allows the caller to give information in a positive atmosphere without the prospect of retribution. By offering cash rewards for information leading to arrests, the program encourages otherwise reluctant callers to volunteer information. Callers may be eligible for rewards.
